My experience on working with the farmers

My experience on working with the farmers

My involvement on working with the farmers was enthusiastic and was I was looking forward to what was going to happen? Yes I was, since this was my first time on getting ma hands dirty but I was also interested on the knowledge I was getting and being taught. Farming might sound easier to some people and I was one of those people, from growing crops, watering, protecting them from freeze damage, heart damage and how to keep animals away from damaging the plants. Not all of this is easy a lot of effort is put in.

The name of the farmer I was working with was Mme Mathabo who was working with other grannies, she is a committed, hardworking women who plants and produces vegetables and herbs. I was supposed to do this procedure and accomplish it as an assignment called Food Security. The whole idea was for me and my group members to have a specific farmer and focus on helping her to create a good communication between the famer and its public. We were put in a test to create different communication tools, such as posters, flyers, printed pictures and social media networks to address and for people to be aware of mme Mathabo. Theses might have been a small farm but we were determined in reaching our goal at Soweto in Tladi where the farm situated.
30th march assisting the grannies in cleaning the farm.

As a group we reached out to nearby markets and street venders, our intention was to advertise to get more buyers for mme Mathabo. What I have uncounted made me to notice that farming in most cases doesn’t make money or profit, I got to perceive  how the grannies and mme Mathabo were coping in terms of having customers and also how having the enough materials for farming was an issue. The best exprince I had to undergo with the grannies and my group was on the 30th of March when we went to the farm to assist the ladies on cleaning and reaching out to the young community members of Tladi for them to help and support the grannies. During my work experience I have observed that where the grannies were farming occurred theft, these were individuals who were addicted to drugs called Nyaope, they came to the municipality premises and buildings to violet the place. During ma encounter I had learn and got to plant vegetables seeds such as spinach, carrots, cabbage, onions, beetroot and herbs and the most selling veggie was spinach.

During this process I was responsible on things like being entrusted for communication. I was supposed to speak and message with the leader of the universal church youth about the specific dates were the youth will be available to come to the farm and assist the ladies. As a group we reached Jozi@work as potential a stakeholder that usually plays a big part in communities, Cash-build to sponsor us and provide the farmers with enough materials they need to plant. I have gained various experience in terms of farming business and the challenges that occurred when raising plants.

Youth Unemployment

                                             YOUTH UNEMPLOYMENT

Youth unemployment is addressed and referred to the rate of newly beginners who are unemployed or seeking for jobs. It’s also one of the biggest issues generation youngsters are faced with from the age of 18 to 28. In most cases the reasons of the employment are lack of qualification, most young people don’t get to finish school or complete their courses which in the professional world are seeking. We know that in order to qualify for a job you have to have a qualification suitable for the position, it might be being involved in an activity but in overall the must be a record showing that you have finished your training or course which is an effort young individuals fail to do. Secondly youth unemployment might be the results of certain areas, meaning usually homeless or in rural areas young generation cant access the right materials to study or get enough skills for jobs whereas in urban areas  there are big opportunities to study and finish courses.

Now me and my group members where given a task in creating a campaign intended on achieving a specific goal which is creating a solution for youth unemployment. Our idea was to have a campaign that will recruit young people, we focused mostly in Alexandra. In terms of writing we composed flyers and posters, our purposes was to communicate with the youth and get to collaborate and persuade them and how this has improved my PR skills?

I got to learn on how important writing the right message in order to share information and maintain relationships. One of the tools was media engagement, for us to communicate properly with the youth, we suggested on media engagement. We got to create a social network such as Facebook in order to engage with the youth that meant we had to be always active to get followers but the most important part was to convey our message and the purpose of our campaign and also to rise up the issue of youth unemployment
.

In terms of relationships management our campaign had approach the youth, we had to organize the day, place and the materials we needed. The interaction with our stakeholders involved using social media by also maintains our promises. Developing a campaign was the most challenging part, we had to come up with the plan of a campaign and how we were going to implement market and have the right message for the campaign. We managed to design a campaign that recruits youth to work on events or volunteer and get paid. In terms of strategy our plan for us to achieve was to get sponsorship and get companies that will recruit the youth for them to get the experience and skills.
